About Our annual Membership Drive
As our kids start high school and become more independent, staying informed and connected with other parents is more important than ever, and CHAPTS can help you do both.
Our membership drive, held each fall, is our biggest fundraiser. Your tax-deductible 2023-24 membership contribution will enrich the educational experience and learning environment for all Chaparral students.
Last year we celebrated Chaparral’s 50th Anniversary, but did you know what was happening back in 1972 when Chaparral opened its doors? Richard Nixon was president, Eugene Cernan became the last man to walk on the moon, and The Godfather won the Academy Award for Best Picture. But perhaps most notably, 1972 was the longest year in the history of recorded time, outlasting other years by a whopping two seconds.
To date, 1972 remains the longest year in history and as such, we are extending our fundraising goal to be the largest one in Chaparral's history. Join us today and help make Chaparral's membership drive a record-breaking one with our goal set at $150,000. With your help we can make a positive, lasting impact on the school and our students.
WHO AND WHAT WE SUPPORT
STUDENTS: Project Graduation, $10,000 in Firebird Scholarships, courtyard shade structure, campus courtyard makeover, building improvements, contribution toward a new gym sound system, classroom & academic enhancements, families in crisis funding for students and families with emergency financial needs, field trip support, and Rocket, Chaparral's beloved golden retriever support dog.
TEACHERS: professional development travel fund, classroom & learning enrichment wish list items, staff appreciation gifts & luncheons, new furniture in J600, teacher classroom supply stipend, copy aide
PARENT COMMUNITY: the CHAPTS weekly newsletter and social media accounts, Chaparral family directory, and community-building events
