CHAPTS, the Chaparral High School Association of Parents and Teachers, is a small not-for-profit organization operated by parent volunteers and funded by community donations. Our mission is to support campus facilities, campus climate, and student learning for all Chaparral students.

 

CHAPTS raises funds through an annual membership drive at the beginning of the school year, selling our very popular covered parking spots and passive fundraising.  Each year we allocate the money we raise for projects at Chaparral, which can include capital improvements, events, professional development, and teacher-requested classroom funds.  

Membership

Teachers and staff are an important part of CHAPTS - without you we'd only be CHAPS! Membership is free for all Chaparral teachers and staff members, and each year we strive for 100% teacher membership. Becoming a member gives you the opportunity to vote on each year's incoming CHAPTS Board of Directors, the group that approves funding requests and drives CHAPTS programming, or to serve on the Board of Directors yourself. Chaparral parents value teachers' opinions and want to know that their contributions are having an impact in the classroom and on campus. If CHAPTS has helped you support student learning, build classroom climate, or in any other way, please help us improve our outreach by letting parents know!

funding requests

Visit our Funding Requests page for information about how to apply for funding from CHAPTS.  Please note that all teacher funding requests over $300 will be submitted for Principal approval before being voted on by CHAPTS and all new clubs requesting start-up funds must first be approved by Chaparral Student Government.

CHAPTS makes information available to the Chaparral community through weekly electronic newsletters, social media accounts, and the CHAPTS website.  

 

If you have information you'd like shared in our weekly email or on the CHAPTS website, please email it to us along with any photos or flyers by Wednesday of each week for inclusion in the Sunday newsletter.
