CHAPTS News

It's hard to believe it's Thanksgiving week! One thing all of us are giving thanks for this year is the dedicated, creative, kind, and eminently flexible Chaparral faculty and staff.

CHAPTS has already started making preparations for our end-of-semester Teacher Appreciation Luncheon on December 15. Thanks to your membership donations, faculty and administrators will be treated to individually-packed box lunches served by parent volunteers.  (Look for a sign-up to help the day of the event in next week's email!)

Each year, CHAPTS also provides gifts for every teacher, and we hope you'll join us in showing our appreciation for Chaparral teachers and everything they do for our students.

Individual teacher gifts can be difficult at the high school level, but by donating to the CHAPTS Teacher Gift Fund, family contributions can be combined, equally divided, and distributed to Chaparral faculty and staff during finals week. 100% of your generous donation, minus any credit card processing fees, will be used for gifts to the people who make Chaparral special. Donations to the teacher gift fund are tax deductible. You will receive an emailed confirmation of your donation that includes tax information for your records.

Thank you for helping us celebrate our teachers and staff! Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

EVIT Tour for Grades 10 and 11

10th and 11th graders, are you interested in visiting EVIT's main campus? Please contact your counselor ASAP! They will send you a link to a Google form that must be completed by 2:20PM on November 29th. The tour will be on Thursday, December 2nd from 9-11AM. The bus will leave Chaparral promptly at 8:30AM. This tour is for students only, and students must ride the bus. Please visit the Counseling Department website for more information.

2021-22 Yearbooks

Make sure to pre-order your yearbook before February 28th. The price for a yearbook is currently $75 and will increase to $85 on January 13th. We will not be ordering additional yearbooks for purchase at the end of the year. A copy of the yearbook can be reserved online at touchbase.susd.org

Claim Your Credit!

All Arizona taxpayers who donate to Chaparral's General Fund can receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on their Arizona taxes of up to $400 for those who file jointly.

Visit the SUSD Tax Credit page to learn how to make your donation online or by mail, and please ask friends or family in Arizona to do the same. You do not need to be a Chaparral parent to take advantage of this opportunity.

Information for Seniors
Senior Resources on CHAPTS.org

It's going to be an exciting year for Seniors and their families! As information comes in, we'll compile it all on the Senior Information page of CHAPTS.org.

Senior Ads

Class of 2022 Families, do you want to recognize your child's hard work and sacrifice? Want to show your child how proud you are of them for graduating high school? Then a senior ad (section or full page) is the perfect way to do it! Click on the following link and follow the easy steps! The last discounted deadline will be here before you know it (it's Nov 30th) so don't delay!: https://theyearbookcompany.com/

Financial Aid Applications

The FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the College Board's CSS Profile, used by many of the nation's more selective public or private colleges to determine tuition aid, are both live! Seniors' families are encouraged to apply early to be first in line for grants, loans and work study programs to help offset the cost of a college education.

Thank you, guidance counselors and College and Career Center staff who are supporting senior throughout this process!

Yearbook Portraits

Seniors must have their pictures taken at Grads Photography for the yearbook by January 13th. Visit Gradsphotography.com and select "Book Now" to schedule an appointment. There is no charge for a simple yearbook photo, but Grads does offer other photo sessions that are not free of charge.  If you are concerned that you may be booking a session that requires payment, call the Grads Photography office to confirm before scheduling.
